Our History

Wakaw Lake Regional Park was officially established in 1965, born from a shared vision to create a welcoming recreation destination for the region. Over the decades, the park has grown from a quiet lakeside retreat into a vibrant hub offering modern amenities, a championship golf course, a bustling marina, and countless family-friendly activities.

Thanks to community support, passionate volunteers, and generations of visitors, Wakaw Lake Regional Park remains a treasured spot where old traditions are honoured and new memories are made every summer.

  • Golfing: Our scenic nine-hole golf course offers stunning lake views, a 3,300 sq. ft. clubhouse, pro shop, and licensed dining at The Crooked Club.
  • Marina: Enjoy 56 boat slips, a public boat launch, and a fully serviced gas dock to fuel your lake adventures.
  • Dining: Grab a hearty meal at The Crooked Club or a sweet treat at Little Kahuna’s right by the beach.

The park operates seasonally from May 1st through September 30th. The golf course operates until Thanksgiving weekend, weather permitting.

Do I need to reserve a campsite in advance?

Yes! We have canoe, kayak and paddleboat rentals down at the beach. Rentals are available daily right from the beach, giving you instant access to a refreshing experience on the water — no trailering, hauling, or hassle required.

Is there food available in the park?

Absolutely. You can enjoy delicious food and cold beverages at The Crooked Club or grab snacks and ice cream at Little Kahuna’s by the beach. We’ve got something for everyone!

Is Wakaw Lake good for fishing?

Yes! Wakaw Lake is popular for fishing. You can expect to catch northern pike, walleye, and perch.
